Our Mission
MISSION
At Concrete Cub, we believe literacy is more than learning to read—it's discovering your voice, building confidence, and creating opportunities that last a lifetime. Through education, mentorship, writing, and leadership development, we empower young people to become the authors of their own futures.
About
Matt Coleman
Founder and Executive Director of Concrete Cub, LLC. I founded Concrete Cub from a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the opportunity to discover their voice, realize their potential, and build a future through the power of literacy and education.
With a professional background in leadership, public safety, training, and community engagement, I have dedicated my career to serving others and creating environments where people can grow with confidence. Through years of working directly with diverse communities, I recognized that literacy is more than the ability to read—it is the foundation for confidence, communication, critical thinking, and lifelong opportunity.
As Founder and Executive Director, I am responsible for providing the strategic vision and leadership that guides Concrete Cub's mission. My role includes developing educational programs, building community partnerships, leading fundraising initiatives, recruiting and mentoring volunteers, establishing organizational goals, and ensuring that every program reflects our commitment to improving literacy, developing leadership, and expanding life opportunities for underserved youth.
At Concrete Cub, my goal is not simply to help children become better readers — I want to help them become confident leaders, effective communicators, and compassionate members of their communities. Every book we open, every story we write, and every young person we mentor brings us one step closer to building stronger communities and creating lasting generational change.
